End of Summer POETRY CONTEST

I submitted “Shimmer in Blue” for this contest… You should submit something, too!

Hello Everyone, it’s time to do this again!

Are you a poet? Do you enjoy writing poems until your heart is sore or until it soars?

I’ve held a poetry contest once before and I absolutely adored it! It was a blast and I got to meet tons of amazing poets and bloggers. For my current followers, you may have noticed an influx of poetry appearing on my own blog lately. What can I say, it’s simply flowing out of me! Anyhow, I am so excited to hold an “End of Summer Poetry Contest.” Unlike my first Poetry Contest, this contest is themed!

*Please be sure to read all of the rules, otherwise your poem may not be eligible!*

Cut Roses

I've lived with//Vicariously numb fingertips//I have sat//In surrogate silence//This life is mine to save//Leaving cut roses on your grave

Here I am

God paints the sunrise with the softest blues//And loverly, effervescent yellows//If I were a bird, it'd be my featherbed//And if I were a melody, it'd be my complement

The Wandering Armadillo

I am the "little armored one", moving gently through life. Hoping to safeguard my sensitivities with layers of words and the expression of thought. Shielding my mirror neurons at times, or tasting music and spinning till I'm dizzy. Every moment here is a gift.

A powerful tool. Why does it seem we're all, carelessly, pointing guns at each other like fools.
